No prior Segway experience is required. Hands-on training and practice time will be provided at the start of each tour. All tours are 90 minutes in length, which includes orientation and training. All glides are escorted. No prior Segway experience is required. Hands-on training and practice time will be provided at the start of each glide. All glides are 40 - 45 minutes in length, which includes orientation and training. Mini-Glide - Learn how to use a Segway and glide around a section of downtown Lancaster. While the Segway shield advertisements are being seen, the rider (or “glider” in Segway-speak) can hand out brochures or flyers, and can talk about the special product, service, or event. You can provide the gliders (which we can train), or we at Red Rose Seg Tours can do the gliding for you. The advertising graphics on the shield are high-quality static cling wraps that can be re-used several times. We’ll work with you and our sign vendor (or vendor of your choice) to produce the advertising wraps. What About Training & Team Building There’s no “I” in TEAM. If you’d like to keep it that way, Red Rose Seg Tours may be able to help. We can assist you in incorporating Segways into training and team building exercises to help you accomplish your goals. What We Rent We rent Segways from our fleet of i2's by the day, week, or month to individuals, businesses, institutions, and organizations. A signed contract specifying fees, security deposits, rider requirements, owner responsibilities, exclusions, terms, waivers, and authorizations is required. A credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express) is required for payment and to place a hold for the security deposit. We provide appropriate training to all renters. We loan a helmet, user manual, and safety video to all renters. What We Sell We sell new Segway i2's and x2's. We have new i2's in stock and can order x2's. We sell used Segway i2's from our fleet as we replace them with new machines. We sell to individuals, businesses, institutions, and organizations. They're fun and intuitive and balance themselves. Tours and glides are conducted using a portable sound system. A guide leads the way, wears a microphone and transmitter, talks about the city, warns of sidewalk problems, and answers questions. Each participant will have an ear-piece and receiver to hear everything the guide is saying.  The Segways will be ridden on the often uneven sidewalks, side streets, and alleys. During tours, there will be opportunities to stop and stretch your legs a bit and take pictures. Bottled water for the breaks is provided at no additional charge. Please arrive 10-15 minutes before the scheduled tour or glide time for paperwork and preparation. Each Segway tour and glide includes a safety briefing and hands-on training. Because if you do something a Segway doesn't like, you can fall off and injure yourself. There will be practice time at the beginning of each tour and glide. Each participant is required to wear a helmet (provided at no additional charge). Sunglasses are recommended on sunny days. Red Rose Seg Tours reserves the right to deny Segway use for any reason the owners feel could result in injury. Each participant must be at least 16 years of age (with a valid driver’s license or permit). Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. There is no upper age limit, but each participant must be able to stand and walk unassisted for an extended period of time, and climb at least one step. Each participant must weigh between 100 and 260 pounds. Each participant must sign a liability waiver in order to participate in a tour or glide. Appropriate footwear is required. No flip flops, open-heeled shoes, or high heels are permitted. Contact Red Rose Seg Tours via phone or e-mail to make a reservation.
